It was just another day in the life of my heart.
It had been a long night, but I am strong and can handle it.
The sun was pouring into the room through a huge window that reached from floor to ceiling.
My roommate was sleeping peacefully next to me, unaware of what he has ahead for today’s procedure.
I could hear nurses talking outside my door as they made their rounds checking on each patient.
Before breakfast time came around at 8:00 AM.
As I was awoken by the morning sun, my roommate started to stir next to me and try to get up.
The nurses came in a few minutes later with breakfast trays that smelled so good!
They helped him sit on his bed before feeding him each bite of food one at a time as he tried not to choke.
Today’s meal consisted of scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, orange juice and black coffee while we talked about what tomorrow will be like for them both.
After they finished eating their respective meals it was time for our daily routine:
Teeth brushing followed by getting dressed out in our hospital gowns again (man those things are really uncomfortable!).
Then off went my roommates wheel chair into the hallways where all sorts of people
