A new paper titled Cognizant Technology Solutions for Robotics and Automation is one of the first studies to look at the idea of teaching robots a language. The researchers tested an artificial intelligence system which could read a list of symbols which could then be used to find patterns in a video of a dog playing with a toy. The system learned and memorized the patterns as well as the symbols. The results, according to the authors, are “very promising.
