In the summer of 2014, the Department of Energy recognized the power of technology and the impact of technology on energy production, storage, and transportation. That summer, the U.S. Department of Energy awarded over $6 million in grants to 20 companies who were developing innovative technologies to improve the energy efficiency of buildings. The awards provide an unprecedented opportunity for companies to explore new ways to reduce energy consumption and to improve the efficiency of their facilities using new technologies.

A quick side note here, the DOE also gave 3 million in grants to 7,000 companies who were developing innovative techniques to “provide an environmentally friendly and economically competitive housing.” The government is offering these funds to help companies save energy and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. In the meantime, companies already have a lot of work to do if they want to achieve these goals. For example, they have to figure out the best ways to store and transport materials.

I am the type of person who will organize my entire home (including closets) based on what I need for vacation. Making sure that all vital supplies are in one place, even if it means putting them into a carry-on and checking out early from work so as not to miss any flights!
