The fact is that we’re all constantly in the midst of a mental battle with ourselves, our emotions, our beliefs, and our reactions. It’s a battle we must fight with our thoughts, our words, and our actions.
The thing about thoughts is that they can be so easily manipulated by our emotions, even just having a “good” thought can be enough to let other people see it. If you’re thinking, “I really like this guy’s hair” and you say “no” to someone, that won’t work in every situation. But in some situations it may be a good idea to say “no”.
But if you think to yourself, I really like this guys hair and you say no to someone, then you might have a harder time saying no when youre wrong.
You could argue that our emotions and reactions can be used for good as well as bad. A lot of the time, we think for ourselves and make decisions that we feel are right. We might not always be aware of our thoughts and actions, but they are still ours to use.
The main reason why we can’t say no in such situations is because we don’t always feel 100% sure of what we’re doing. I think there’s a difference between feeling 100% sure that you’re doing something, and feeling 100% sure that you’re not doing something. Even if you’re right, you might still feel like you’re making a mistake, so you might still say no even though you know deep down you aren’t.
You might not always feel 100 sure that youre doing something, but you do always feel safe. That’s why we feel the need to say “no” when we feel we may be making a mistake. After all, you might be wrong, but you dont feel like you have a choice in the matter. That’s why we say “no.
If you feel like you might be making a mistake, you should probably say “no” to that thing youre doing. If youre just feeling safe, you probably shouldn’t be doing it. It might be the thing thats making you feel safe that shouldnt be doing it.
The more we feel like we shouldnt be doing something, the stronger our desire to not do it becomes. We all do things we feel like we dont have a choice in doing.
I know because I have been there.
